Virgin Media is introducing a new entertainment upgrade for its TV platform users, enhancing their viewing experience at no extra cost. The telecoms company has collaborated with Rakuten to launch three additional channels this month, known as FAST channels (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television).
Customers can now access Rakuten TV Drama on Channel 462, featuring popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Rakuten TV Comedy on Channel 463 offers comedies such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled for viewers to enjoy. Additionally, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Channel 464 promises a selection of content from the realm of science fiction.
The upgrade is automatically available to Virgin TV 360 and Flex users, without any action required from customers. All new channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found using voice control search functions.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, emphasized the value these new streaming channels bring to customers, offering a diverse range of entertainment, including Hollywood blockbusters, at no additional charge. With this expansion, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, including British Screen Classics, Inside Crime, and U&Transport.
While a monthly subscription fee is necessary for Virgin Media TV services, the enhanced channel lineup now provides a superior viewing experience compared to free alternatives.
