“Millions to Receive Early Benefit Payments from DWP”

Millions of individuals are set to receive their benefit payments earlier this week courtesy of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Various allowances such as Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, and state pension may see changes in payment schedules depending on recipients’ usual payment dates.

If your payment is due on Thursday, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day, anticipate receiving it sooner than expected on Christmas Eve due to DWP payments not being processed on bank holidays.

In case of early payment, it is advisable to manage your finances until the subsequent payment date, which might be earlier than usual if scheduled for Thursday, January 1.

Should you not receive your benefit payment as anticipated, reach out to the relevant office online, by phone, or your local JobCentre upon reopening.

Remember that helplines will be inactive on bank holidays, necessitating contact on the following working day.

Benefit payments by DWP differ from Tax Credits and Child Benefit, with the latter being managed by HMRC. Child Benefit payments typically occur on Mondays and Tuesdays, unaffected by Christmas bank holidays.
