Kharcheva, who posed as Miss April in a provocative calendar dedicated to Putin’s birthday, was introduced to the Russian leader by a youth movement called Nashi. The calendar, featuring young women aiming to impress Putin, reportedly caught his attention, particularly Kharcheva. Their relationship allegedly evolved into a long-standing affair, with Kharcheva visiting Putin regularly while Kabaeva was away.
As Putin publicly announced the end of his marriage to Lyudmila in 2013, Kharcheva continued her discreet relationship with him. Despite being seen on television discussing the calendar and participating in the Miss Russia contest, Kharcheva’s ties to Putin were kept hidden. Although she did not win the competition, her presence in the finals raised suspicions due to her accelerated progression.
Nashi allegedly attempted to leverage Kharcheva’s relationship with Putin to gain influence, drawing parallels to historical figures like Madame de Pompadour. However, the report indicates that their efforts to exploit the romance may have annoyed Putin.
