Three individuals have been taken into custody following the discovery of a deceased person in a field, prompting a police inquiry. First responders hurried to a field close to High Mathernock Farm in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, after receiving a notification of a body being found at approximately 9:20 am. While the identity of the individual has not been officially confirmed, the family of a 50-year-old man reported missing from Greenock today has been notified.
Officials from Police Scotland are in the process of determining if the fatality is connected to a disturbance that occurred in Lansbury Street, Greenock, reported at around 2:45 am earlier that day. Subsequent to this event, law enforcement also cordoned off a street in the Gibshill area of Greenock with an emergency services presence established since the early hours of the morning.
Investigators observed forensic officers and a blue tent at a property in Lansbury Street, and a cordon was set up on Gibshill Road where additional officers seemed to be collecting evidence.
