O2 has officially announced that millions of its customers are receiving a complimentary rapid upgrade. This enhancement brings faster 5G+ connectivity to users throughout the UK, providing improved mobile coverage and significantly faster download speeds. O2 assures users of a 50% performance increase compared to older 4G technology.
Aside from speed and reliability improvements, users can also expect extended battery life as devices consume less power by no longer needing to simultaneously connect to both 4G and 5G networks. This contrasts with traditional 5G, which relies on 4G support for operation.
The upgrade is currently rolling out for users with 5G+ compatible devices and SIM cards, with over 700 towns and cities already activated for the service.
