During a visit to the Hurst Hall Care Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne, Rayner, a former carer herself, commended the caregivers for their dedication to the most vulnerable individuals and criticized Reform UK for jeopardizing their hard-earned rights. When asked about a potential return to the frontline of politics, Rayner affirmed her ongoing commitment to serving her constituents.
Reflecting on her past government roles and priorities, Rayner highlighted her interests in addressing issues such as child poverty, fair pay agreements, and full implementation of the Employment Rights Bill. She stressed the need for unity within the Labour Party to focus on transforming lives after years of Conservative rule.
Rayner also shared her frustration with the delays in passing the Employment Rights Bill in the House of Lords, criticizing the actions of the Lib Dems and Tories for causing setbacks. She expressed determination to defend the bill and support care workers who deserve stability, security, and proper training to provide quality care to those in need.
