Two individuals lost their lives following a tragic incident where their vehicle veered off the M1 highway and collided with a tree.
Authorities responded to the incident on the southbound section of the M1, situated between junctions 37 and 36, at 11:36 pm on Wednesday. The vehicle involved, a BMW Saloon, had left the roadway and impacted a tree.
Despite the prompt arrival of emergency services, both the driver, a man in his twenties, and the passenger, a woman in her twenties, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The families of the victims are receiving support from specialized officers.
