“TOI Triumphs in Long Walk Hurdle, Eyes Cheltenham Glory”

IMPOSE TOI secured his first Grade 1 victory in the Howden Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, solidifying his position as a top stayer. Trained by Nicky Henderson, the seven-year-old triumphed over Strong Leader in the Grade Two Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury last month, showcasing significant progress.

Despite facing Strong Leader with a 6lb disadvantage, Impose Toi widened his winning margin from their previous encounter, crossing the finish line a length and a quarter ahead under jockey Nico de Boinville. The third spot went to Honesty Policy, the 11-4 favorite, also owned by JP McManus.

Following the impressive win, Ladbrokes reduced Impose Toi’s odds to 5-1 for the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Henderson expressed his delight, emphasizing the flawless performance of Impose Toi and the strategic execution by Boinville.

McManus, celebrating the victory, set his sights on the upcoming King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day with his horse Fact To File. He expressed his long-standing desire to win the prestigious race, highlighting the anticipation and preparation for the event.

As the festive season kicks off, McManus remains optimistic about his chances at the King George VI Chase, aiming to secure his first victory in the race after several close calls in the past. The stage is set for an exciting showdown at Kempton Park, with high expectations surrounding the competition.
