Boxing Champion Joshua Hospitalized After Fatal Car Crash

Anthony Joshua has been hospitalized following a car accident in Nigeria that resulted in two fatalities. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when Joshua’s Jeep collided with a stationary truck. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua sustained minor injuries and was en route to the hospital.

Reports indicate that Joshua was traveling in a two-car convoy, comprising a Pajero SUV and a Lexus SUV, with his security detail following behind. Eyewitnesses described the crash involving the Lexus SUV, where Joshua was seated at the back along with other passengers. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in the accident.

Authorities are investigating the collision, with initial findings suggesting that Joshua’s vehicle veered into the truck after a tire burst, causing a loss of control. Despite the ordeal, Joshua was seen standing after the crash, and local police have assured that he is in good condition despite sustaining minor injuries.

Joshua, who had recently participated in an exhibition fight in Miami, Florida, expressed plans for a significant year ahead. He hinted at a potential future showdown with rival Tyson Fury, reigniting their longstanding feud. The possibility of a match between the two heavyweight boxers is being speculated, with fans eagerly anticipating a potential bout in the near future.
