“BT Unveils Smart Hub 3 Router with Advanced Security”

BT has introduced the Smart Hub 3 Wi-Fi router, offering enhanced web connectivity and advanced security features. This latest router can automatically identify and warn users about dangerous websites, protecting against malware and online threats. Additionally, it can detect unauthorized access attempts to smart home devices like internet-connected cameras, preventing potential security breaches.

Users can monitor detected threats using the Hub Threat Protect feature in the MyBT app, empowering households to enhance their online security measures and proactively prevent cyberattacks. In addition to security enhancements, the Smart Hub 3 supports Complete Wi-Fi Plus, extending signal coverage and minimizing dead zones within homes.

The Smart Hub 3 features a sleek design with a central BT logo, as revealed in images from Mirror Online. Notably, this router supports Wi-Fi 6 technology rather than the newer Wi-Fi 7 standard present in some competitors’ devices, such as EE routers.

While Wi-Fi 7 offers faster speeds, lower latency, and improved reliability, Wi-Fi 6 remains sufficient for most households as many current devices do not yet support Wi-Fi 7. Wi-Fi 6 still represents a significant upgrade from older Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4 equipment.

BT’s Smart Hub 3 will be accessible to new customers, with potential upgrades available for some existing users. In comparing Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6 enhances wireless performance in speed, efficiency, and capacity compared to previous standards. Conversely, Wi-Fi 7 provides wider channels, reduced latency, and higher speeds, catering to gaming, 8K streaming, and advanced smart home setups.

For current users, Wi-Fi 6 remains a reliable choice, while Wi-Fi 7 presents a more forward-looking solution.
