While en route to the G20 summit in South Africa, Starmer addressed the issue and highlighted the significance of upholding journalist respect, citing their crucial role in the UK’s democracy. Health Secretary Wes Streeting also condemned Trump’s behavior, labeling it as inappropriate during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.
Starmer further expressed his disbelief that a prominent British politician would ever use such disrespectful language towards a female journalist. He acknowledged the ongoing challenges faced by women journalists, including instances of sexism and harassment, emphasizing the need to combat such behavior.
