A 21-year-old woman, described as a “beautiful angel,” was tragically murdered after accepting an invitation onto a boat in a coastal town. Corinna Baker’s lifeless body was discovered on a vessel docked at a former boat-building yard in Cardigan, Wales. She was last seen heading to the boat yard on Thursday night, with her body found on Saturday afternoon. Authorities apprehended a 29-year-old man on suspicion of her murder.
In a heartfelt tribute, her sister Caitlyn expressed, “Heaven is now graced with the presence of the most beautiful, funny, and resilient angel.” Authorities are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of the Netpool Boat Yard on Thursday night and may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.
According to locals, Corinna, known for her fun-loving nature, went out with friends on Thursday but never returned. Witnesses reported seeing a boat covered in black tarpaulin being taken by police for further investigation.
The boatyard, situated at the mouth of the River Teifi estuary in the town of Cardigan with a population of 4,000, is a popular spot for anglers and tourists. The community, shocked by the tragedy, recognized Corinna’s family for operating a local pub in the town for many years. Residents expressed sympathy, with one neighbor describing Corinna as a sweet girl and extending condolences to her family.
A spokesperson from Dyfed Powys police stated, “There is an increased police presence in Cardigan following the discovery of a woman’s body at Netpool Boat Yard. A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. The investigation is ongoing, and individuals present in the area on the evening of November 13 are urged to come forward with any relevant information.”
Locals in the coastal town of West Wales noted a significant police presence at the boat yard, with one resident remarking on the unusual seriousness of the situation in their typically quiet community.
