Fallon Sherrock has urged darts players to push through challenges without using illness as an excuse for subpar performances. While Michael van Gerwen has been absent from Premier League matches due to illness, Sherrock is unsympathetic towards his struggles.
Van Gerwen recently withdrew from three Premier League nights and appeared off his usual form when he faced Gerwyn Price. Despite his health issues, Sherrock expressed a lack of empathy for Mighty Mike’s predicament.
In an interview on Double Tops, Sherrock emphasized the importance of persevering through difficulties like illness. She pointed out that women also face physical challenges, such as menstrual cramps, that affect their performance but emphasized the need to push through and deliver their best on stage.
Despite Van Gerwen’s setbacks, he still holds the third position in the Premier League standings. In contrast, Luke Littler, who won his second world title at Ally Pally, has struggled and currently ranks seventh out of eight players in the competition.
Sherrock remains optimistic about Littler’s potential turnaround, noting that he is likely setting up a challenge for himself to excel in the upcoming weeks and surprise his critics. She confidently predicts his qualification for the O2 in London and expects him to showcase his winning capabilities.
