Freeview Overhauls TV Guide with Channel Shifts

Freeview, the popular television service, has recently undergone significant changes to its TV guide, including repositioning of channels and a renaming. The most notable update is the closure of Talk (Ch 280), a British news channel known for debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics featuring hosts like Jeremy Kyle, Mark Dolan, and Kevin O’Sullivan. Viewers can now access Talk through the official app or platforms such as Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.

In addition to this change, Freeview has rebranded Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 as Wedotv and relocated three services on the planner. Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics will now be found on new channels, with Ketchup TV moving from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too shifting from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics moving from Ch 214 to Ch 210.

Freeview has announced that on June 25, 2026, some broadcasters will be making alterations to their channels. The service emphasized that channel changes are common as broadcasters adjust their lineup, but Freeview ensures a diverse range of content for audiences.

To ensure access to the updated channels, viewers are advised to navigate to their TV settings and perform a retune. Freeview provides a simple guide for retuning your TV, including selecting the setup or installation option, initiating a first-time installation, and saving any found channels when prompted.
