WhatsApp highlighted that sharing a phone number can be a significant step when connecting with new individuals, such as classmates, neighbors, event acquaintances, or members of group chats. The platform emphasized the need for chat privacy without the necessity of sharing personal contact details.
Moreover, the upcoming update will enhance the privacy of group conversations. For instance, individuals joining community chats or social groups can engage without immediately disclosing their phone numbers to strangers.
Users are encouraged to secure their preferred usernames in advance of the full launch, as the high user volume on the platform may lead to rapid username claims. Early reservations will provide users with a better chance of securing their desired usernames without missing out.
