“GO Train Service Disrupted for Essential Upgrades”

Metrolinx has announced that there will be no GO train service between Stratford and Mount Pleasant stations on the Kitchener line this upcoming weekend due to essential track upgrades. Passengers traveling to or from Toronto will need to utilize alternative transportation options, such as taking a bus from the Kitchener or Guelph GO stations to reach their destinations.

Passengers from Kitchener will be directed to take a bus to Bramalea GO for train connections or to the Hwy 407 bus terminal for access to TTC Line 1 towards Union Station. Guelph and Stratford riders will be provided with buses to Mount Pleasant GO station. During the weekend, GO train services will operate solely between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis GO stations. At Mount Dennis GO station, commuters can transfer to the TTC for travel to Union Station.

GO Transit has advised of late-night service adjustments on Friday night, with slight schedule modifications planned for Monday and Tuesday. Departures from eastbound trains originating from Stratford, Kitchener, and Guelph stations will be two minutes earlier, while westbound trains arriving at Union Station will be delayed by two minutes for Guelph, Kitchener, and Stratford stations.

Regular train services are anticipated to resume on Wednesday as Metrolinx undertakes essential work to lay the groundwork for a second track and corridor enhancements along the Kitchener line.
