A 20-year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario, has been arrested for his involvement in a case related to the smuggling of cocaine from Canada to Hong Kong. The police have formally charged him with exporting a controlled substance and participating in a conspiracy to commit a serious offense. The man made a court appearance in Kitchener for a bail hearing.
The investigation, led by the Waterloo Regional Police Service, commenced in September 2025 following the apprehension of a 20-year-old woman from Cambridge at Hong Kong International Airport carrying 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine in her baggage. Recently, law enforcement, in collaboration with local authorities, detained a man from Markham, Ontario, believed to be connected to the illicit drug operation that allegedly aided the Cambridge woman in traveling from Toronto to Hong Kong.
The inquiry remains active and ongoing.
