Firefighters are currently engaged in containing a three-alarm fire at a commercial establishment in downtown Toronto this Sunday morning, according to Toronto Fire officials. The incident unfolded at the Zanzibar Tavern, an adult entertainment venue situated near Yonge Street and Elm Street, prompting emergency response units to arrive at the scene at approximately 6 a.m. As fire crews arrived, they were met with significant volumes of dark smoke and a fire outbreak at the roof level of the building, leading to the escalation of the situation to a 3-alarm status. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied, and there have been no reported injuries thus far. The firefighters who were inside the structure have been safely evacuated, and efforts to suppress the blaze are ongoing from the exterior due to concerns about the compromised roof, as confirmed by Toronto Fire officials.
