U.S. President Donald Trump declared on social media his intention to initiate what he described as “the MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER UNDERTAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY!” Trump emphasized that this would involve Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale, although he provided limited specifics in a post on Truth Social.
He also issued a warning about potential economic repercussions for any nation that extended support to Tehran or offered any form of assistance to Iran. Trump stated, “ANY country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences.”
While not outlining the exact measures that Washington would implement against such countries, Trump emphasized the need to halt activities such as oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, and front companies immediately. He concluded his message by stating, “You know who you are.”
Additionally, Iran has introduced a $30,000 U.S. bounty for any Iranian who can capture or kill American soldiers. This move by Iran has raised questions about its timing, propaganda implications, and feasibility.
