Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ends Strike with Signal Workers

Canadian Pacific Kansas City has declared the conclusion of a lengthy strike involving around 300 unionized signal workers. In a recent announcement, CPKC stated that the rail company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers have mutually decided to terminate the strike and proceed with binding arbitration. The previous contract between the rail carrier and its unionized employees expired in May, leading to a period of federally mandated conciliation and mediation, which did not result in an agreement. The IBEW highlighted that its members are responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing railway signaling and communication systems throughout the CPKC network, spanning from Vancouver to Montreal. Consequently, employees are expected to resume their duties on Monday morning.
