One individual has passed away, and another individual sustained injuries following a crash involving an SUV and a commercial truck on Wednesday afternoon in Thames Centre, located just outside London, Ontario. The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on Dundas Street, west of Fairview Road, which is situated beyond the city limits of London.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the SUV driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and unfortunately succumbed to those injuries later. The driver of the commercial truck, identified as a straight truck, suffered only minor injuries in the collision.
As a result of the crash, Dundas Street was shut down from Shaw Road to Fairview Road, while Fairview Road was closed from Dundas to Evelyn Drive by late Wednesday afternoon. Authorities are urging individuals with any relevant information or dashcam footage to reach out to them or provide details to Crime Stoppers.
