Police in Gatineau, Quebec, and Ottawa are seeking individuals who may have experienced theft of underwear from their residences in recent years. This initiative follows the execution of a search warrant on November 20 at a property in the Manoir des Trembles area in connection with two burglary incidents, as confirmed by the Gatineau City Police Service in a recent press release. A Gatineau resident was apprehended during the operation, subsequently detained, and later brought before the Court of Québec.
Subsequent to the court appearance, further charges have been authorized as the investigation progresses with additional offenses of a similar nature coming to light. The 52-year-old suspect is reported to have offered his services as a “handyman” for various household tasks, primarily targeting residences of women. Victims reported discovering unfamiliar underwear in their homes along with missing pieces from their own collection after the suspect had gained entry.
Authorities suspect that additional individuals in the Manoir des Trembles neighborhood, as well as in other areas of Gatineau and Ottawa, may have been impacted by the suspect’s actions.
