“Windsor Police Seek Help in Identifying Vehicle Involved in Shooting”

Windsor authorities have reached out to the community for assistance in pinpointing a vehicle involved in a shooting incident at an indoor children’s play area in south Windsor during the early hours of Wednesday. The police were alerted to the situation around 10 a.m. on Thursday at a establishment on Dougall Avenue close to Eugenie Street W. following reports from the owner of gunshots targeting the building’s windows.

Upon inspection, law enforcement discovered damage from gunshots on the windows and multiple shell casings in the parking lot. The establishment, previously identified as Slide’s Indoor Playground, was unoccupied when the shooting took place, and thankfully, no injuries were sustained.

Authorities shared that surveillance footage captured a large SUV entering the parking lot at approximately 11:12 p.m. on Wednesday. A passenger from the vehicle disembarked and discharged rounds before the SUV swiftly departed in an unknown direction. The suspect vehicle is described as a sizeable white SUV, potentially a more recent model of a Hyundai Santa Fe.

In response to the incident, police cordoned off the vicinity around the establishment on Thursday morning for investigative purposes. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Windsor police are urging motorists and businesses in the vicinity to review any surveillance or dashcam footage recorded between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday that could aid in identifying the vehicle or individuals involved.

Anyone possessing relevant information is encouraged to reach out to the Windsor Police Service Major Crimes Unit.
