In an Instagram post, Dimoldenberg expressed her gratitude to her followers for joining her on this journey, stating that while she never anticipated ending “Chicken Shop Date,” she feels it’s time to embark on new adventures.
The show, which Dimoldenberg launched 12 years ago, initially focused on interviewing musicians in Britain’s underground rap scene before expanding to feature conversations with various celebrities, such as Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow, accumulating almost 3.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
“Chicken Shop Date” follows a unique format where Dimoldenberg shares a meal with a celebrity at a fried chicken shop in London, engaging them with a mix of flirty, humorous, and sometimes awkward questions. The interactions often resemble first-date banter rather than traditional talk show interviews, occasionally leading to playful exchanges like the flirtatious moment with Andrew Garfield during their chat.
Among the notable Canadian guests on the show was Ryan Reynolds, who engaged in a friendly banter with Dimoldenberg about his wife Blake Lively’s character on “Gossip Girl.” Similarly, Shania Twain joined Dimoldenberg for a date in 2023, where she disclosed that she had never met Brad Pitt, despite referencing him in her song “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
