British professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, a prominent figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) based in the United States, has passed away at the age of 40. His in-ring moniker, Pac, was well-known among fans.
The news of Satterley’s death was confirmed by AEW through their social media platforms on Sunday evening. While the cause of his death remains undisclosed, he had participated in a televised wrestling match the night before against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Satterley, hailing from Newcastle, England, initiated his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. Over the years, he competed in various independent wrestling leagues globally, showcasing his acrobatic and high-flying maneuvers in the ring along with his impressive physique.
Formerly known as Adrian Neville, Satterley was associated with World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018, where he notably featured in NXT and the cruiserweight division. In 2019, he joined AEW and engaged in matches with the company’s top talents, securing multiple championships, including the inaugural international title.
Recognized for his finishing move, the black arrow, a dynamic aerial dive, Satterley was nicknamed “The man that gravity forgot.” Despite often portraying a villainous character referred to as “The Bastard,” he also displayed comedic elements in his performances.
Outside the wrestling realm, Satterley maintained a private life, rarely making public appearances or interviews out of character. Following his untimely demise, tributes poured in from colleagues and peers, highlighting his exceptional talent, humility, and dedication to the sport.
Satterley’s unfortunate passing marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler within a month, following Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher, who passed away in September after collapsing during a wrestling event. Williams, a native of Buffalo, New York, was a guitarist for the band Every Time I Die.
In a rare social media post, Satterley shared a photo with Williams from the locker room, underscoring the bond between the two wrestlers. The wrestling community mourns the loss of these talented individuals.
