“Teen Arrested for Vandalizing Veterans Memorial Crosswalk”

A young man, aged 19, hailing from Tilbury, has been arrested by the Chatham-Kent police in connection with the damage caused to the Veterans Memorial crosswalk in Erieau, Ontario. The incident took place on July 25 at approximately 2 a.m. when a pickup truck was reported to have caused significant damage to both the crosswalk and the road through a burnout. The police were informed about the incident two days later. Surveillance footage captured the event, enabling the authorities to identify the vehicle involved.

After identifying the vehicle, the police were able to ascertain a suspect and subsequently issued an arrest warrant. The 19-year-old suspect was apprehended on October 3 at around 8 p.m. He has been charged with mischief over $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
