Senators’ Home Opener Honors Late Goaltender Ray Emery

The Ottawa Senators are set to commence their season at home tonight with a special tribute honoring former goaltender Ray Emery, who tragically passed away in 2018 at the age of 35. Emery, a native of Hamilton, was drafted by the Senators in 2001 and played five seasons with the team. One of his notable achievements was leading the Senators to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2007.

To mark the beginning of the new season as Ottawa faces the Philadelphia Flyers, Emery’s family will ring the ceremonial bell at Canadian Tire Centre. The Senators started the season with three away games, securing two wins and suffering one loss. The team has announced an expansion of its free bus service for fans attending regular-season games, with buses departing from various locations, including Liam Maguire’s, Local Heroes, Thirsty Moose, Glebe Central Pub, Hometown Sports, Le Pele Mele, Ollie’s Pub & Patio, and Father & Sons.
