Canadian swimmers Taylor Ruck and Finlay Knox continued to excel at the second leg of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup series in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Ruck, an accomplished Olympian from Kelowna, B.C., secured a silver medal in the women’s 100m backstroke with a time of 56.38 seconds, coming second to Marrit Steenbergen from the Netherlands. This was Ruck’s second podium finish after claiming silver in the 50 freestyle event the day before.
Knox, hailing from Okotoks, Alta., clinched a bronze medal in the men’s 200m individual medley, clocking in at 1:52.33. He finished behind Americans Shaine Casas and Carson Foster. This marked Knox’s third bronze medal in Tashkent, following his earlier successes in the 100 butterfly and 100 individual medley events.
The Tashkent competition will conclude on Saturday, with live streaming available on CBCSports.ca and CBC Gem at 9 a.m. ET. The World Cup series will wrap up next week in Kazakhstan.
