Montreal authorities are currently looking into a potential arson incident that occurred at a residential property in Dollard-des-Ormeaux on Friday evening, involving a vehicle that caught fire.
As per Raphaël Bergeron, a spokesperson for the Montreal police, evidence discovered at the scene indicates that the fire was deliberately set. The incident took place at a residence on Papillon Street, close to Hyman Drive, where the vehicle was situated in a driveway. Emergency responders had already contained the fire by the time law enforcement arrived around 10 p.m.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from the incident, although the vehicle sustained significant damage, as confirmed by Bergeron. The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) is actively investigating the matter, with no suspects having been detained at this stage.
