Provincial authorities are investigating the death of a man discovered unconscious on Sunday evening in Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec, as a potential homicide case. The man, aged in his 40s, was found inside a residence on Rang de St. Placide Street at approximately 7:15 p.m. Following the discovery, he was promptly taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has not provided extensive information regarding the incident. Sgt. Audrey-Ann Bilodeau mentioned that authorities are seeking one or possibly two suspects, with no arrests made thus far. A perimeter has been set up, and law enforcement is actively seeking to interview potential witnesses in connection with the case.
Baie-Saint-Paul, located roughly an hour north of Quebec City, has not experienced a homicide since 2019.
