A new individual has been accused in relation to the death of Melissa Price, a 39-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a trash receptacle in Moncton earlier this year. Sean Kristopher Bastarache faces charges of being an accessory after the fact of murder on Feb. 15, 2026. Crown prosecutor Marc-André Desjardins confirmed the connection to Price’s death in an email to CBC News. Bastarache was not present in Moncton provincial court for his initial appearance, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Desjardins mentioned that police would serve Bastarache with a notice to appear in court on Nov. 9. Trial dates have been arranged for May 2028 for Leandra Beaulieu, 36, and Devlin O’Blenis, 37, who are both facing a joint second-degree murder charge for allegedly killing Price on Feb. 14. Joshua Martin is also facing charges of being an accessory after the fact of murder and indignity to a human body. Martin is set to appear in court on Nov. 2. No public information has been released regarding the specifics of Price’s death. A preliminary inquiry was conducted in August for the second-degree murder charge, but the details remain protected by a publication ban.
