Drivers commuting from Montreal’s South Shore will face increased difficulties during Wednesday morning’s commute. The Quebec Transport Ministry announced late Tuesday that the left lane on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge, leading towards Montreal, will be closed indefinitely. This closure comes after a crack was discovered on a steel beam during maintenance work, prompting the ministry to implement the lane closure as a precautionary step to reduce structural stress. The ministry advises drivers to allow extra travel time due to the lane closure. Overnight inspections were scheduled to assess the situation further.
