“Power Outage Hits City of Hamilton Services”

A power outage is impacting various City of Hamilton services, as reported by the city on Tuesday. Affected services include computers, wifi, and the self-checkout system at the Hamilton Public Library. The city’s main customer service line features an automated message acknowledging the outage and stating that IT services are actively working on a resolution.

The city’s reception line indicated that the outage was reported in the morning with no specific timeframe for services to be restored. The affected departments remain unspecified, but city staff are diligently addressing the issue. Despite the disruption, the Ballot-on-Demand service at Hamilton City Hall will be available until 4 p.m.

At the HPL central branch, the disruption persists, preventing access to computer systems for both patrons and staff. However, book checkouts are still possible with a library card. HPL acknowledged the system-wide power outage on social media.

Additionally, the city’s recreation customer service line was also inaccessible as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday due to the ongoing power outage.
