“American Accused in School Shooting Plot Pleads Not Guilty”

James Cody Bryant, an American accused of collaborating with the Tumbler Ridge shooter to plan a school mass shooting in British Columbia, has pleaded not guilty in a Seattle court. Bryant, who identifies as Melody and uses she/her pronouns as per her lawyers, attended an arraignment hearing dressed in an olive green prison outfit.

During the court session, Bryant, 30, stood with her hands clasped in front of her, acknowledging two friends in the audience with a slight smile and nod. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Greenberg presented the charge while Bryant’s attorney entered the not guilty plea on her behalf.

The indictment against Bryant includes a charge of conspiracy to murder individuals in a foreign nation, carrying a potential life imprisonment sentence and a $250,000 fine. Following a grand jury’s decision last week, Bryant is set to face trial starting on December 21.
