The Alaska Highway in Whitehorse has reopened completely following a collision involving two vehicles on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred near the Cousins airstrip, south of the North Klondike Highway junction, prompting the RCMP to shut down the highway around 3 p.m. Tuesday. It was partially reopened to one lane about an hour later. Emergency medical services, the fire department, and the Whitehorse RCMP all responded to the crash scene, according to MacLeod.
Yukon Protective Services confirmed that the highway was cleared and traffic was back to normal after 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
