Amazon’s Alexa+ platform is now available in the UK, bringing advanced features to Echo smart speaker owners for free. This upgraded version of the popular voice assistant allows for more natural and conversational interactions with users. Alexa+ personalizes experiences by learning preferences, adjusting tone based on context, and providing tailored recommendations for films, recipes, and sports updates.
With Alexa+, users can create shopping lists, track prices, receive delivery alerts, and compare products through online reviews. The platform also offers seamless control of smart home devices with voice commands and the ability to set up custom Routines without needing to access the Alexa app.
Additionally, Alexa+ enhances the multi-speaker setup experience, allowing users to effortlessly move music around the house and specify where to play music by simply voicing commands. The platform has been optimized for British users to ensure a better understanding of regional expressions and cultural nuances.
To address privacy concerns, Amazon emphasizes that Alexa+ is designed with privacy and security in mind. Users have access to the Alexa Privacy dashboard to manage interactions, review shared attachments, control voice recording storage duration, and more, offering transparency and control over data usage.
Early Access to Alexa+ is currently being offered for free, with a subsequent monthly fee of £19.99 after the promotional period. Prime members will continue to have free access. Amazon plans to gradually roll out Alexa+ to hundreds of thousands of customers in the UK in the coming weeks.
