Amazon is rolling out a major update for select Fire TV Stick models to improve user experience. The update includes a refreshed design with modern interface elements, updated typography, and enhanced color gradients. Users can expect a 30 percent performance boost in navigation speed within menus.
Apart from visual enhancements, the update allows users to pin up to 20 apps on the home screen, an increase from the previous limit of six. The access to various features like Games, Art & Photos, and Ambient Experience has been streamlined through the Menu button on the remote.
Additionally, a new shortcut panel accessible by long-pressing the Home button has been introduced for quick access to Fire TV controls. Amazon is also introducing Alexa+, an enhanced assistant, later this year in the UK to improve content discovery.
In conjunction with the Fire TV Stick update, Amazon is revamping the Fire TV mobile app. The redesigned app will enable users to browse content, manage watchlists, and play titles directly on their TVs, aligning its appearance with the updated Fire TV interface.
The update will first roll out in the U.S. and later in other regions. Initially, the new Fire TV features will be available for Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series in the U.S., with plans for expansion to more devices and countries, including the latest Fire TV 4K streaming media players in the upcoming months.
