Apple has rolled out a crucial update for iPhone users to address a wireless charging issue affecting some devices. The problem is hindering wireless charging, forcing impacted users to rely on MagSafe for battery top-ups instead. While Apple notes only a small number of users are affected, it’s recommended for all iPhone owners to ensure their devices are up to date.
The iPhone 17 series, including the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone Air, are confirmed to require the update to resolve the charging glitch. Apple explained that the update specifically targets a wired charging issue on these models when the battery is nearly depleted.
To update your device, simply navigate to Settings, tap on General, and select Software Update. Look for iOS 26.5.1 and choose to install immediately or schedule for later. Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection or ample mobile data as the update is a sizable 13.6GB file.
