“Captains Announce Diverse Presidents Cup Rosters”

International team captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected two Canadian golfers, Corey Conners from Listowel, Ontario, and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, British Columbia, to join the upcoming Presidents Cup roster. Additionally, Ryo Hisatsune will be part of the team, marking the first instance since 1998 that the International squad comprises two Japanese players, with Hideki Matsuyama securing one of the six automatic spots.

For the U.S. team, Jackson Koivun has been included, a remarkable decision considering he only recently left Auburn. Koivun, who clinched victory at the 3M Open in his early professional career and swiftly earned a spot in the PGA Tour postseason after just five tournaments, becomes the first player since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to enter the Presidents Cup without a tour card at the start of the year.

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker has also chosen Jacob Bridgeman, the victor at Riviera this season, over Ryan Gerard, ranked 22nd globally, despite Gerard’s strong performance at the Tour Championship where he finished third.

The Presidents Cup is scheduled for September 24-27 at Medinah, where extensive renovations have been completed by Ogilvy’s golf course design company based in Australia.
