Colombian Singer Mayerly Díaz Dies After Cosmetic Procedure

Singer Mayerly Díaz, aged 32, has passed away due to a sudden heart attack post a cosmetic procedure. The mother of two faced a medical crisis possibly due to complications arising from the said procedure.

Díaz had recently undergone the procedure at a Bogotá clinic in Colombia on the early hours of Saturday, November 22. Known as “The Voice of Quipile,” she hailed from La Sierra in the Quipile municipality and is survived by two children aged 11 and 13, starting her musical journey at the age of 14.

With one of her songs, “No supiste perder – You Didn’t Know How to Lose,” garnering 58,000 views on YouTube, Díaz’s music video “Con tus chiros a otra parte – Take Your Cash Somewhere Else” was released just last week.

Her manager and close friend, Néstor, praised her for representing their community with her voice and music, highlighting her humility and the joy she brought through her songs.

The specific cosmetic procedure that led to her demise remains undisclosed. Local media outlets, including El Tiempo, have reported an upcoming thorough investigation into her death.

Tributes poured in from her cousin, Leidy Díaz, on social media expressing deep sorrow and love for her departed cousin. The Mayor’s Office of Quipile also extended condolences, acknowledging the loss of a beloved regional singer.

Fans have taken to social media to mourn her passing, with messages of “Rest in peace” and “God have her in her glory” being shared widely.
