“Controversy Erupts at World Darts Championship”

Joe Cullen has taken to social media to express his strong disapproval of Mensur Suljovic, accusing the experienced darts player of unfair play. The darts match between the two ended in a disappointing defeat for Cullen at the World Darts Championship.

Suljovic made an impressive comeback after losing a set, ultimately winning the match 3-1 against Cullen at Alexandra Palace. During the game, Cullen was visibly frustrated by Suljovic’s slow pace and prolonged celebrations, evident by his impatient gestures and muttered remarks.

While Suljovic is known for his deliberate playing style, Cullen found it increasingly bothersome, leading to a tense exchange of words between the two players after the match. Cullen did not hold back in his criticism of Suljovic on social media, labeling his actions as cheating and not in line with fair darts play.

In response to Cullen’s public outburst, Suljovic seemed puzzled, stating that he had never personally apologized to Cullen for his pace of play. Suljovic defended his style, emphasizing that every player has their own approach and rituals on the stage, and he sees no reason to apologize to Cullen specifically.

Looking ahead, Suljovic may face off against the reigning world champion, Luke Littler, in the next round of the championship. Littler is set to compete against darts player and NHS area manager David Davies in his upcoming match.

The PDC World Darts Championship commenced on December 11, and viewers can catch all the live action exclusively on Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
