The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a warning regarding a potential health risk associated with the recall of certain products. Three flapjack items are being recalled due to the presence of an undisclosed ingredient.
Flapjackery has initiated a recall of its Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack products due to the omission of almonds, posing a potential hazard to individuals with almond allergies. The FSA stated on its official website that Flapjackery is recalling these products because they contain almonds, which were not listed on the label, thereby posing a potential health risk to those allergic to almonds.
The affected products, all with a best before date of March 2026, are being recalled by Flapjackery. The company has proactively reached out to relevant allergy support organizations to inform their members about the recall and has also issued a point-of-sale notice to customers.
Customers who have purchased any of the mentioned products and are allergic to almonds are advised by the FSA not to consume them. Instead, they are urged to return the products to the store of purchase for a full refund.
In cases where a food product is deemed unsuitable for sale due to issues such as incorrect allergen labeling, it may be withdrawn or recalled to ensure consumer safety. When there is a risk related to food allergies, the FSA will issue an allergy alert to notify the public.
