Two board members have been suspended as a result.
The RCMP has confirmed the investigation into potential financial irregularities involving the club but has not disclosed further information due to the active nature of the case. The current four-person board of the gymnastics club, which previously consisted of six members, issued the closure statement. When contacted by CBC News, the two board members not mentioned in the statement provided different responses – one declined to comment due to the ongoing police investigation, while the other did not respond to interview requests.
Although some parents of gymnastics club members declined interviews, they expressed distress over the situation. The club’s board remains optimistic that with community support, the Glovertown Hurricanes Gymnastics Club can overcome these challenges and resume operations successfully.
