Hamilton Police Veteran Charged with Breaching Court Order

An 18-year veteran of the Hamilton Police Service has been charged with breaching a court order, according to Hamilton police. The 47-year-old officer was arrested and charged by the neighboring Halton Regional Police Service for breach of recognizance, which involves violating a condition of a court-ordered agreement, as stated in a news release issued by Hamilton police on Saturday. Hamilton Police declined to provide further comments as the case is now in court.

When asked, Halton police did not respond to inquiries from CBC Hamilton regarding the timing of the charges and the specific conditions the officer allegedly violated.

In August 2025, the officer was charged with assault and mischief in connection with two alleged domestic incidents in Hamilton in 2022 and 2023. Hamilton police confirmed that the officer was released on conditions following the charges. The charges stemmed from a report by an alleged victim, with the officer’s identity not disclosed by Hamilton police at that time.
