“Heated Rivalry” Hits Big Screen in Cineplex Marathon

Cinephiles and enthusiasts of the popular series “Heated Rivalry” are in for a treat as Cineplex announces nationwide screenings of all six episodes in early November. This exciting event is part of a larger agreement that will bring the beloved queer romance to theaters in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.

Canadian fans can enjoy a marathon viewing of the entire first season on November 8 or opt for double features on November 6, 10, and 11. Dubbed as a chance to “reheat” the show, audiences can relive the Canadian-made sensation at participating theaters. Detailed information can be found on Cineplex’s website.

In the U.S., over 650 theaters are set to showcase all episodes, beginning on November 6. Based on Rachel Reid’s novel, “Heated Rivalry” narrates the story of rival hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, whose competitive on-ice dynamics intertwine with a private relationship.

The screenings have evoked mixed reactions from fans, with some expressing delight at the opportunity to experience their favorite streaming show on the big screen. However, others have raised concerns about the ticket prices, labeling it a bold move to charge for viewing TV episodes in a theater setting.

Additionally, the screenings serve as a refresher ahead of the second season, slated for release in the spring of 2027, although the exact premiere date remains undisclosed. Creator Jacob Tierney has also recently unveiled “I’ll Believe in Anything: The Making of Heated Rivalry,” a book offering insights into the show’s production process, including annotated scripts and behind-the-scenes material.
