“Irish Woman Faces Sexual Assault Charges in Magaluf Hotel”

A 38-year-old married woman from Ireland is facing legal trouble after being accused of sexually assaulting a young male tourist nearly two decades her junior at a hotel in Magaluf. The incident allegedly took place in a Turkish steam bath at the Hotel Martinique on June 3, where she reportedly touched the man’s genitals without his consent. Following her arrest, the woman spent a night in police custody before being released on bail by an investigating magistrate.

The woman, who resides in County Cork, is now charged with sexual assault, as prosecutors claim that she engaged in inappropriate behavior with an 18-year-old man at the time, placing her hands on his genitals against his will. The indictment suggests that she continued her advances until the teenager objected and left the scene. If convicted, prosecutors are seeking an 18-month prison sentence for the woman, along with a ban on working with minors for an extended period and a compensation payment of €500 to the male victim.

Reports indicate that the woman had engaged in conversation with the man at the hotel sauna before the alleged assault took place in the Turkish steam bath, leading to the involvement of hotel staff and subsequent police intervention. Her lawyer, Joan Arbos, has expressed intentions to argue for the discontinuation of the case, as he does not believe a crime was committed. However, the trial date is yet to be scheduled, and in Spain, first-time offenders typically receive suspended prison sentences of two years or less.
