A man has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the case of Tory Dunn’s death in Surrey, B.C., following a home invasion two years ago. The verdict was delivered by a jury in New Westminster, B.C., and the sentencing date for Adam Mann will be set next week. The tragic incident occurred on June 16, 2024, at Dunn’s residence in the Port Kells area, where the 30-year-old was fatally stabbed while resting on a couch after returning from a birthday celebration with her fiancé. Despite Mann claiming he innocently handled a knife found with Dunn’s blood, forensic evidence linked his DNA to the weapon. Notably, this murder took place shortly after Mann was accused of assaulting another woman in Surrey. Court records reveal Mann’s history of criminal activities spanning several provinces, including previous convictions for violent crimes and breaches of probation orders. In response to the case, Dunn’s family initiated a petition calling for a legal reassessment of Mann’s release and advocating for reforms to prevent similar tragedies. NDP Leader David Eby expressed his commitment to supporting the family’s quest for justice and reform.
