A man aged 45 from the northeast Avalon area is now confronting 46 additional charges related to sexual violence against females. Initially charged by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault unit in February after a report of sexual violence against a youth at a residence, the man faced accusations of sexual assault, sexual interference, voyeurism, and possession and production of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials. His identity remains shielded by a court-ordered publication ban.
Following a recent news release, a thorough examination of various electronic devices uncovered 20 more victims of sexual violence associated with the man, comprising 15 youths and five adults. Subsequently, on Wednesday, police pressed 46 fresh charges against the man after the investigation, encompassing 15 counts of voyeurism, 14 counts of possessing child sexual exploitation material, 13 counts of producing it, and a charge of accessing it. The new allegations also involve sexual interference, sexual assault, and permitting sexual activity at a residence.
The man is scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday as stated in the news release.
