A man is in a serious but stable condition following an assault at the Parliament LRT station on Saturday afternoon, according to Ottawa paramedics. The Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson, Tyler Leslie, mentioned that they received the call at 4:30 p.m. The man suffered facial injuries and an abdominal wound, although the exact cause of the injuries could not be confirmed.
He was subsequently taken to The Ottawa Hospital’s Civic campus trauma center for treatment. At the station, police tape was visible along the underground entry gates, and throughout the day, police, paramedics, and OC Transpo special constable vehicles were present. Due to the ongoing investigation by the Ottawa Police Service, LRT service at both Parliament and Rideau stations was restricted to the eastbound platforms as of 8 p.m.
Efforts have been made to obtain more information from Ottawa police by CBC.
