Former Manchester United striker Mark Hughes has decided to place his impressive £5.5million mansion on the market for the third time. Situated in Cheshire, the residence covers about 8,892 square feet and is set on approximately two acres of land.
Hughes enjoyed a successful 13-year career at United in two separate periods, first breaking into the team in the early 1980s and then returning in 1988 after spells with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. During his time at the club, the 62-year-old made more than 450 appearances across various competitions, scoring a total of 161 goals.
Apart from his tenure at United, Hughes also played for Chelsea, Southampton, Everton, and Blackburn Rovers before retiring in 2002. He later transitioned into management, overseeing teams like the Welsh national team, Blackburn, Manchester City, Fulham, and Southampton, among others.
Currently managing Carlisle United in the National League, Hughes took charge in February following the club’s relegation from League Two earlier this year, ending their two-decade stint in the Football League.
The renowned footballer has relisted his Cheshire mansion, which offers six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, showcasing a luxury leisure suite. This suite includes an indoor pool, spa, gym, a tennis court, and a private golf green within the grounds.
Featuring exquisite interiors with a sophisticated selection of materials, the property also includes a cinema room, a one-bedroom annexe, a smart home system, and underfloor heating throughout. Positioned in Cheshire’s esteemed ‘Golden Triangle,’ known as the ‘Footballer Belt,’ the home shares the neighborhood with notable residents like Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, and former Premier League stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin De Bruyne.
Sky has recently discounted its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle in anticipation of the 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and access to over 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL, and more. Sky will broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League games next season, a substantial increase from previous seasons.
